Gummi Warp - Barnibus

Back in the day, I hoped to become an Disney animator. Ah, the dreams of idealistic youth. During that time, I practiced working the "disney model" of character design and this illustration was one of many done in that mode.

Part of a concept which was essentially an alternative treatment of Disney's Gummi Bears setting, taking it out of medieval fantasy and transplanting it into futuristic science fiction (a la Star Trek or Star Wars) with new characters and situations, this is one of a series of character designs that adapted the old to the new.

Shown here is Barnibus, executive officer of the chartered explorer starship, Gummidron.
